TR4K — Privacy Policy

TR4K is developed and published by KØHAI Global. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

1. Information We Collect

TR4K is designed with privacy at its core. We collect as little data as possible:

  • Audio Recordings: TR4K records audio from your device's microphone, or from a connected wired, USB or Bluetooth microphone, only when you tap record. Your recordings and the projects ("cassettes") that contain them are stored on your device and are never transmitted to us.
  • Audio Analysis: Tempo, key, chord, phrase and transient detection, time-stretching and echo cancellation are processed entirely on your device using Apple's audio frameworks. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
  • Microphone & Bluetooth Access: TR4K asks for microphone permission in order to record, and may ask for Bluetooth permission in order to list Bluetooth microphones. You can withdraw either permission at any time in iOS Settings.
  • iCloud Drive (Optional): If you choose to save a cassette to iCloud Drive, it is stored in your own iCloud account and synced by Apple's iCloud service. This data does not pass through our servers.
  • Crash Reports & Diagnostics: If you opt in via Apple's standard settings, anonymised crash reports and diagnostics may be shared with us through Apple's App Store Connect to help us improve the app.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

TR4K does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Personal identification information
  • The content of your recordings or projects
  • Location data
  • Contacts, photos, or other personal files
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Analytics or usage tracking beyond Apple's standard opt-in diagnostics

3. Data Storage

Cassettes are stored locally on your device as project packages in the app's Documents folder, where you can also see them in the Files app. Your preferences are stored locally using UserDefaults. Cassettes you choose to keep in iCloud Drive are stored in a "TR4K" folder in your own iCloud Drive using Apple's encrypted iCloud service and do not pass through any third-party servers. Deleting the app removes the cassettes stored on your device; cassettes in iCloud Drive remain in your iCloud Drive until you delete them. Stems you export or share are sent only to the app or location you choose.

4. Third-Party Services

TR4K does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external service involved is Apple's own infrastructure for optional iCloud Drive storage and optional crash reporting.

5. Children's Privacy

TR4K is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
